Hello!
I am Lauren Whitmore, wife to a supportive husband, mother to an amazing little girl, and a believer in peaceful birthing experiences. I am a passionate doula who knows the power that mental, physical, and emotional preparation has on reaching your birth goals.
During my pregnancy, my husband and I moved from the DMV to Texas. This move involved new jobs which meant new insurance… after a small lapse. It was during this time that I spent many hours searching for a doula. I wanted someone to support me through my pregnancy as I tried to adjust to the many transitions I was experiencing. I found a doula who was the perfect fit for me. Her energy, her affirmations, her faith, and her transparency built me up in so many ways. She also challenged me to think about what I was passionate about and figure out a way to make that a huge part of my life. I had no idea her charge would lead me to actually stepping out on faith in this way but it was inevitable.
I have always had a passion for birth work. It wasn’t until the pandemic that I realized that I needed to do work that is not just fulfilling but also important and radical. A doula’s role is to provide continuous physical, emotional, and educational support to a birthing person before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help them make informed decisions that are in their best interest.
I am here to do that. I educate and serve families as they experience their unique birth journey. It is my goal to ensure birthing families, specifically birthing mamas, feel empowered, heard, and understood.
I recognize that birthing is a sacred experience and each pregnancy, each labor, each delivery, and each postpartum recovery should be handled with care and honored for its uniqueness.
